New Toyota Land Cruiser 300 to be offered with two V6 engine options?

Citing “word out of Japan”, CarsGuide claims the 300-badged replacement for the Land Cruiser 200 will be unveiled in July, rather than August 2020.

According to the report, the new Land Cruiser 300 will be offered with the choice of two 3,5-litre V6 petrol engines, one of which will be electrified. The hybrid version, of course, is expected to offer a more impressive spread of torque, with a firm focus on pulling power.

The Japanese firm is widely expected to ditch the 243 kW/460 N.m 4,6-litre V8 petrol engine employed by the outgoing model in some markets.

It’s not yet clear what Toyota’s plans are in terms of diesel power for the upcoming Land Cruiser 300, what with the current model in South Africa employing a 4,5-litre V8 turbodiesel worth 195 kW and 650 N.m.
